Enhancements & Improvements

iOS app updates

Gallery Visibility labels on iOS now match the web experience so you'll see consistent naming no matter where you're managing your galleries.

Auto Backup no longer gets stuck in an endless retry loop on iOS. A data glitch was preventing new photos from being backed up, but your media now backs up reliably, every time.

We resolved a memory performance issue on iOS where enabling "Include Videos" in Auto Upload was causing excessive resource usage. Video backups now run smoothly without slowing down your device.

We cleared up a behind-the-scenes logging error in Auto Upload on iOS that could interfere with backup reliability. Everything now runs cleaner, for a more dependable backup experience.

macOS uploader updates

2.6.2 of our SmugMug macOS Uploader. In addition to behind-the-scenes maintenance and fixing a few user reported crashes, we’ve also improved the progress indicator UI. The biggest change is seeing the combined progress of child galleries in top level folders, making it much easier to find active and completed uploads at a glance!

LrC plugin updates

Lightroom Classic Plugin 3.5.17 is rolling out with a fix for re-publishing edited RAW files. Update now within Lightroom. Adobe Marketplace availability is coming soon.

Windows uploader updates

3.12.0 update to the SmugMug Windows desktop app:

  • We fixed an edge case that could cause duplicate "Windows auto upload" folders to be created. We also rebranded color/icon changes to match our other apps and the web - see screenshots!
  • In an effort to keep your SmugMug account safe, we have updated alerts when your password needs updating so that you can take action right away to secure your account.
  • We updated messaging about our Source subscription option to better explain the value of adding Source for RAW file storage and management.

Bug Fixes

  • We removed the AutoPlay option from video content blocks since most browsers no longer support auto-playing videos. This eliminates a confusing setting that wasn't delivering the expected result, so your video content block options now reflect exactly what's possible.
  • Your HEIC photos now upload reliably after we resolved an issue that was causing this popular iPhone file format to fail.
